At FC Willamette we believe that the quality and ability of each and every player on our roster is what leads our teams to success.  We do not believe in short-term coaching strategies designed to achieve immediate wins at the expense of player development.  In many cases our winter teams play in league and tournaments one or two years above their natural age level to ensure a truly competitive and optimally challenging experience for our participants. In terms of team success and player development, we believe our program compares more than favorably with other clubs in the central Willamette Valley area.  For example: FC Willamette is the only club in the State of Oregon to have had a team (boys or girls) win a San Diego Surf tournament, regarded as one of the top-two most competitive tournaments in the nation! At five USYSA Far-West Regionals our two participating teams have reached the quarterfinal stages four times and in 1999 our U-16 team reached the semi's! In the last 5 years only one other female team from the Central Willamette Valley area clubs have participated at USYSA Far-West Regionals as Oregon State Champions! Two FC Willamette teams have won more OYSA State Championships (7) since 1996 than the female teams of all other central Willamette Valley area clubs combined (4)! FC Willamette teams have won more OYSA League titles (6) since 1995 than the female teams of all other central Willamette Valley area clubs combined (1)! FC Willamette teams  have had more top-three OYSA League finishes (13 of 17 entries) since 1995 than the female teams of all other central Willamette Valley area clubs combined (7 of 34 entries)!
