The FC Willamette Passion U16 (Girls) won the championship in the Nomads Coaches Showcase Tournament (U-16, Gold Division) March 27-29 in San Diego, CA.   The Nomads Showcase Tournament is among the most prestigious in the country, attracting premier-level teams from the throughout the western U.S., including Alaska and Hawaii. The Passion played six games in three days, including the final against the Surf U15 White (from San Diego), a nationally ranked team from a very strong club.  "This is a great achievement for our team," said Passion Head Coach, Robert Allan.  "Our defense was strong throughout the tournament and with a little more luck around the goal we would have scored a few more. As far as I am aware,  up to date the Passion is only girls team from Oregon to win a Nomads,  so we're very pleased."

Passion goalkeeper Jesslyn Rahm allowed just two goals during the tournament and had shutouts in the quarters, semis, and final game.  Ashley Wood scored the winning goal for the championship. Samantha Post and Natalie Roberts also provided goals during the tournament.  The quarterfinal
